Default Option to turn off directional hints for quests

Hi all,

I haven't been able to find this in the list of collected suggestions. I would like to suggest having an option in the Options window to be able to turn off directional hints for quests.

As most of you know, whenever you select a quest in the quest log, a green arrow shows up in the compass telling you the general direction of your destination. It's a good idea to have the hint so I don't think it should be completely removed, but I feel that being able to turn it off at will could help to improve the overall PvE experience for those that have time to explore around.

What could be implemented on the Options window is perhaps to add a drop down list labelled "Hint Display" in the first tab which includes the following options:

- No Hint (default): No hints are displayed for directions nor destination
- Destination: Hints displayed only for destinations (the green starburst)
- Direction: Hints displayed to show only general direction (the green arrow)
- Full Hint: Directional and destinatio hints displayed

On top of that suggestion, I also want to suggest the following:

- Having a checkbox to turn on and off tooltips that help new players get by the basics of the game (the light blue box that shows up when you play a new character at the starting parts of the game)
- This Hint feature could also be mentioned in the tooltips so that new players are aware of this feature
- When the Search button is clicked for the first time, tooltip for using the new party/trade feature is shown
- When a new character is introduced into a town for the first time, Search button should blink to catch attention, after which it will just show up with yellow text (as it is now)

My apologies if anything above is already implemented as I've not been playing the game for quite awhile and I haven't checked before posting this. The ideas just came to my mind because a few friends were asking me related questions.

Ignore the arrow if it bothers you that much, it's not like it's an 'in-your-face' type of thing.

Go look in settings > display > advanced and see what stuff you can turn off.

You can disable quite a few things including the annoying messags NPCs post on the screen in factions.

Lol. That was quite close to what I told my friend.

I don't actually have a problem with the hint since I never bothered with quests in PvE (I don't even read dialogues); I just follow and get them done without a thought. This was actually raised by my friend since he was felt that the whole entire questing thingy felt being led on all the time.

Anyway, I kinda get what my friend is referring to and agree with him that it's kinda hard to 'not see' the arrow. Most players look at the mission map (for trails) and compass (for enemies) quite often to get an idea of their surrounding.
